Why the Cybersecurity Skills Gap Is a Practice Problem
Many people want to work in cybersecurity, and many have studied for it. What employers often look for is something harder to show: experience of doing the work.
Knowing what an alert means is different from triaging a real one under time pressure, writing it up clearly and handing it to a colleague. Those skills grow with practice.
ManyTek is built around that idea: give learners realistic, team-based security exercises, have instructors review the work, and make that evidence easier for employers to understand.
Knowledge and practice
Certificates and courses are valuable: they show that someone understands the concepts. Practice shows whether they can apply them — investigating with incomplete information, documenting decisions and working in a team.
Practice needs the right environment
Practice works best in realistic settings with real tools and clear roles. That is why ManyTek training uses team-based exercises with Microsoft security tools, guided by practitioners.
Evidence, reviewed by people
Completed work is reviewed by instructors. Automated scores can help organize information, but they never replace human judgement about what someone can do.
